Wingspan Bird Tours
Bob and Dawn Buckler are the proprietors of Wingspan Bird Tours and operates their Bird-watching Tours from a base in Southern Andalucia in the delightful “pueblo blanco” Gaucin in the province of Malaga. The tours can be as short as a morning ramble to a full 7-day all-inclusive break. They offer rental accommodation in recently refurbished apartments adjacent to their house in central Gaucin. All the tours concentrate in the area between Malaga in the east to Coto Doñana in the west with Antequera to the north forming a rectangular land mass encompassing mountain ranges, coastal lagoons, forest, plains, vast marshlands, saltpans, farmland, rivers, gorges and inland lakes. The sites are easily accessible from our base though one or two sites may require a journey of between 1 to 2 hours. Some of the sites nearest to our base boast the richest diversity and number of species as anywhere in Andalucia.
The route of each daily tour will be decided on the day of the tour, the decision will be based on current weather conditions, bird movements and, of course the time of year. If you have a preference or a ‘wanted list’ of species please mention it when you book your tour.
